Global Academic Communication Program: Advanced Level

From September 3 to November 30, 2024, the Global Academic Communication Program: Advanced Levelsuccessfully took place. The program was designed to enhance international academic communication skills among university faculty, researchers, and administrative staff in Ukraine.
Participants included graduates of the “English-Language Academic Communication” program from 2022, 2023, and 2024, as well as those who provided proof of English proficiency (B1+, B2, B2+, C1) or certificates of participation in other international projects or academic exchanges.
This innovative and unique course was developed to address the evolving needs of Ukrainian higher education and science, incorporating best practices from the European Higher Education Area, cutting-edge British innovations, and relevant approaches from U.S. universities in 2020–2024.
The program was conducted online, and hosted by the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv. It was implemented through the Center for English-Language Academic and Cross-Cultural Communication in cooperation with the Faculty of Foreign Languages, the International Relations Office, and European partners from the United Kingdom, the United States, Germany, and Poland.
The program was financially supported by the international project “Educational Bridge Chemnitz–Lviv 2024” as part of the “Digital Ukraine (2024)” initiative of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) with funding from the Federal Ministry of Education and Research of Germany.
Key Components of the Program:
- 15 interactive lectures highlighting modern approaches to international academic collaboration.
- 4 tutorials providing personalized support to participants.
- 2 project presentation sessions where participants showcased their knowledge and skills.
- 1 final assignment to consolidate and apply the competencies gained during the course.
This program marked a significant step forward for Ukrainian academics and educators, strengthening international cooperation and advancing European standards in higher education.
